Each December, the Mt. Pleasant community gathers in joyful anticipation for one of its most beloved traditions—the annual Community Christmas Cantata. Held at the historic St. James Church, this heartwarming event brings together voices, families, and festive spirit in a celebration that has become a cornerstone of the season. At its heart, the cantata is a musical proclamation of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—an offering of praise that fills the sanctuary with reverence, joy, and the true meaning of Christmas.
This year’s cantata, titled Christmas Classique, will be presented on Sunday, December 14 at 7pm, filling the sanctuary with timeless melodies and the spirit of Christmas. Whether you're a longtime attendee or discovering the cantata for the first time, the evening promises to be a moving celebration of unity, tradition, and joy.
For those who love to sing and cherish the choral tradition, weekly rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays at 7pm in October, November, and December at St. James Church. All voices are welcome—no auditions, just a shared love of music and community.
Come be part of something special. Whether you sing, listen, or simply soak in the beauty of the season, the Mt. Pleasant Community Christmas Cantata is a treasured experience that brings hearts together year after year.
