Vanilla is an aromatic, sweet-scented orchid used to flavour cakes, and perfumes. Are you interested in learning about growing vanilla in Brisbane? Whether you’re considering growing your own vanilla bean at home, or simply want to learn more about how vanilla beans are grown, pollinated and harvested, this is the workshop for you. Workshop includes a short walk to visit the vanilla vines growing in the botanic gardens, information on how to use a real vanilla pod in cooking and the opportunity to enjoy tasting some real vanilla flavoured treats.
Please wear a hat and enclosed shoes; and bring a keep cup or water bottle.
This workshop supports the Botanic Gardens' commitment to creating a plant loving community, dedicated to putting the plant back into Planet.
Please note: This workshop is only available to participants 16 years of age or over.
Meet at the Kitchen in the Garden
