About this Event

The History of the Shiloh Community

Explore the history of this community of free people of color, which was formed by 1830 and is located in the present-day town of Morrisville. We will learn about the history of the community, of the church, of Jesse Harris, a Revolutionary war patriot who is connected to those buried in the cemetery, and about the Town of Morrisville Greenway. The program will close with a tour of the cemetery and Greenway.

This program will be presented in partnership with the Wake County Genealogical Society and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking.
