Join us for this hands-on workshop, where qualified horticulturist and landscaper Annette Burmeister will explain the how, why, what, and when of soil and water management for fruit trees.
Topics covered in the workshop will include:
- Understanding your soil types and limitations
- Improving soil structure and water holding capacity
- Watering your trees efficiently and effectively
- Tree Time – Why is my fruit tree dying?
- Seed viability of heirloom seeds compared to hybrid seeds
- Composing and mulching your fruit trees.
This event will be held outside, so please remember to bring the following:
- A drink bottle & hat.
- Wear weather-appropriate clothing and enclosed shoes
Presenter's Profile - Annette Burmeister
Annette is a qualified horticulturist and landscaper who serves as a Coordinator and Lecturer in Horticulture for TAFE SA. She has recently returned to South Australia after working within the TAFE system in Darwin, where she developed Australia's first nationally accredited course in Therapeutic Horticulture at Charles Darwin University. In addition to her teaching role, Annette operates her own business as a Horticulture and Landscape Design Consultant, providing expert guidance throughout South Australia.
