Being able to read music will be an advantage to take part in this workshop, but isn't absolutely necessary. We can make learning tracks available for some pieces in advance if you'd feel more confident getting some notes under your belt beforehand.
There is on-street parking in Rothbury near the URC, but we can't guarantee you'll definitely be able to park outside the door. The venue has flat access (one slope) and a downstairs loo.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to know more.
When you book, please ensure you let us know about any dietary requirements, especially any allergies.
The choir sings in four parts: soprano, alto, tenor and bass. If you're not sure what voice part you are, that's fine.
Here's a rough guide: many women are either altos or sopranos. If you can singalong to Aled Jones' "Walking in the Air," you're probably a soprano. Otherwise, probably an alto, although if you like singing very low (think Sarah Jane Morris in The Communards) then you may be a tenor. Many men's voices sit right between tenor and bass (this is called baritone), but if you like singing very low, you'll probably be a bass. We can work it out on the day if need be!
