Babysitting Course - Canadian Red Cross Program - SEPT 19

COURSE CONTENT

-How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership
-How to make good decisions and manage difficult behaviours
-Information on children’s developmental stages, and specific strategies for each stage
-How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children and babies
-How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours
-First aid skills
-The business of babysitting


TAKE-HOME MATERIALS
-Babysitter’s Manual
-Completion certificate

PREREQUISITE
-Minimum 11 years of age (or completion of Grade 5)


DURATION/ CLASS INFORMATION
-Time: 8:45– 4:30 pm (Please drop off your child 15 minutes early and pick them up no later than 4:45 pm)
-7-8 hours
-Please pack a non-heat-up lunch for your child and bring comfortable clothing to learn in
