About the event

Fall Speaker Series: Judith Turner-Yamamoto
This year, the Mooresville Public Library will be hosting our fifth annual Fall Speaker Series sponsored by the MPL Friends of the Library!

Judith Turner-Yamamoto will be joining us on September 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library. Her debut novel, Loving the Dead and Gone—a Mariel Hemingway Book Club pick and 2025 NC Humanities NC Reads contender—has earned national recognition and multiple awards. Set in Potter, a fictionalized Asheboro, the novel draws deeply from Turner-Yamamoto’s personal regional roots. Her powerful talk will explore how place, memory, and emotional inheritance shape storytelling.
