Last Sunday we opened up our new sermon series entitled: Spiritual Discipline to Build Community.
We kicked off our series with one of the most challenging spiritual disciplines: The Discipline of Submission. During the message, we learned that Spiritual Discipline is the means but Freedom is the purpose. Simply put, Spiritual Discipline leads us to freedom. And the discipline of Submission, leads us to freedom from our own need to be in control! The Holy Spirit revealed that our community has Problems, but God is using His Spirit to bless us with Peeps who will share our burden and be a blessing! Lastly, God wants to share His Power that’s at work within us with those who He plans to use to build His kingdom!
Looking ahead to this Sunday, we will continue with episode 2 of our Spiritual Discipline Series. In this 2nd installment, we will deal
with: The Discipline of Solitude: Jesus Style
There has never been, nor will there ever be, anyone more disciplined than Jesus. He not only lived in complete submission to the will of His Father, He used solitude as the way to stay connected with the Almighty.
His moments of solitude came at three very interesting points in His ministry. And all three moments served to build and establish God’s community!
If you want to learn more about Jesus’ moments and methods of Solitude, then come join us this Sunday!
