The Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC) is thrilled to announce its inaugural national screen composers conference. THE AGSC SCORING SUMMIT will take place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) in Sydney.

This event celebrates the incredible work of Australian screen composers and offers the community an opportunity to connect, learn, and share ideas across film, television, games, trailers, and advertising – while debating key industry issues such as AI, copyright, and streaming quotas. Delegates can attend in person or online, with every session broadcast live.

Highlights of the conference include panel discussions, deep-dive sessions into composers’ creative processes, and live musical performances. Delegates will also be able to pitch their ideas, meet with decision makers from the screen industry and collaborate with their colleagues over two days in Sydney. Legal advice and mentors will also be available to all delegates to enable them to solve problems and learn about the screen composing industry.

The conference is generously supported by Screen Australia, Screen NSW and AFTRS, and in partnership with National Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Music Organisation (NATSIMO), Trackdown Studios and APRA AMCOS.

Confirmed panel sessions include “Anatomy of a Score – Bluey” with Joff Bush & Daniel O’Brien (Bluey, Fisk); “Designing Dread: Scoring Horror” with Cornel Wilczek, Alex Olijnyk & Thomas Rouch (Talk To Me, Bring Her Back); Scoring for Interactivity: Music in Games with Montaigne (Stray Gods), Dan Golding (Untitled Goose Game) & Yon (Stray Gods); In Conversation: Composer x Music Editor with Elliott Wheeler & Jamieson Shaw (Elvis, The Great Gatsby); and Contracts, Copyright & Creative Control with Burkhard Dallwitz (The Truman Show, Underbelly ) & Antony Partos (Christy, The Artful Dodger).
