Join Friends of the Black Canyon for a day of reflection and gratitude.
Starting at 10:00am, take part in our “Voices for the Canyon” community meeting, where firefighters, park staff, and emergency crews will share their stories, challenges, and reflections from battling the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park’s largest fire in history.
Following the Voices for the Canyon program, stay for a Thank-You Picnic, honoring the brave first responders who worked tirelessly to protect our park and community.
* Free lunch will be provided for all first responders and their families.
* Community members are invited to join for a $5 donation per person, with all proceeds supporting ongoing recovery and restoration efforts at the park.
Let’s come together in appreciation for those who served, those who sacrificed, and to celebrate the spirit of resilience and renewal in our community.
