Clinicians are consistently being called upon to help the people they work with navigate quickly changing environments and broken systems. As client acuity and the complexity of mental health concerns continue to rise, clinicians find themselves frequently having to manage and respond to crises and high-risk situations. Assessing and managing these concerning and threatening behaviors can leave clinicians feeling overwhelmed and ill-equipped. This workshop will provide a survey of systematic and structured frameworks for identifying, assessing, and working with individuals who may pose a risk of violence. Topics will include:

CE Information:
Six (6) Contact Hours will be awarded for a full day of attendance. Attendees should also successfully complete an evaluation at the end of the day. No partial credit will be awarded. The University of Montevallo Counselor Education Program has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP #4323. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The University of Montevallo Counselor Education Program is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
