The Space for Music - XALAM

The Space for Music is back for the fall season! If you’ve attended one of these events, you know that this is an intimate listening room experience, where the audience is in close conversation with the musicians. This is co-creation at its finest!

XALAM + is a collective of veteran world and jazz musicians, featuring oudist, composer Brandon Terzic (Nubatones), Rufus Cappadocia (Vernon Reid, Ross Daley) on 5-string cello and fretless bajo quinto, and percussionist Matt Kilmer (Simone Shaheen, Reggie Watts).

Merging Terzic’s African ngoni, oud, and blues guitar background with Cappdocia’s trance groove cello, and Kilmer’s virtuosic frame drumming, the group creates a unique musical language of hypnotic grooves and original compositions.

Accessibility: The Space is located on the second floor of a historic building, accessible via a flight of stairs. Unfortunately, there is no elevator access at this time. This means we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or guests with significant mobility challenges. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
