Always wanted to learn to knit, but never picked up yarn before? Ready to learn a relaxing, fun new craft? Join us in this in-person class for absolute beginners and learn to knit, purl, cast on, and cast off! We’ll also cover basic seaming, weaving in ends, color changes and how to “unknit” to fix errors. You’ll go from newbie to knitter while making your very own chunky cowl in this 3 session class.
The in-person class will be held in the store, and is designed for absolute beginners who have never knit before. All classes are for ages 16+ unless otherwise noted.
Note on Materials: All materials are available at Yarnia. Yarn for the project must be purchased at Yarnia; come in or call before your first class for help in selecting appropriate materials and get a 10% discount on yarn purchased for class use. If you have already purchased yarn from us, you may use that yarn in this class.
Materials
- Super-bulky yarn in a light to medium color, suggestions include 1 ball of Berroco Dash, or 2 skeins of Sugarbush Chill, or Malabrigo Rasta.
-one pair size US 13 10” single point knitting needles (size 15 if using Sugarbush Chill)
-Yarn/tapestry needle
-scissors
Class fee is $80 for three 90-minute in-person sessions and does not include the materials kit. Please arrive at Yarnia 10 minutes before the start of class, with materials in hand. Yarn for the project must be purchased at Yarnia; come in or call before your first class for help in selecting appropriate materials and get a 10% discount on yarn purchased for class use.
