Calling all armchair detectives, horse lovers, and lifelong learners: get ready for an immersive, one-of-a-kind camp experience that blends real-world criminal investigation with the magic of the equestrian world.
At our day camp, Saddle Up Sleuths, adults 21+ spend a thrilling day riding horses and unraveling a staged equestrian crime scene using forensic techniques, behavioral profiling, and CSI tools — all while bonding with horses and fellow sleuths.
🔍 What You'll Do:
-Investigate a Crime Scene in a farm setting: collect evidence, analyze bloodstain patterns, and build a behavioral profile.
-Learn Forensic Skills straight from world renowned forensic criminologist: Dr. Laura Pettler and here team of experts
-Meet & Ride Horses in a leisurely trail ride (no prior experience necessary).
-Solve a Mystery as a team — combining crime scene science and equestrian clues to crack the case.
-Enjoy Camp Vibes: farm life, themed activities, True Crime & Equines merch, and group meals (Bring your lunch or buy lunch with your ticket)
🧬 Camp Features:
-Forensic workshops &/or discussions: bloodstain pattern analysis, trace evidence collection, victimology, forensic psychology, criminal profiling, & more
-Agritourism: life on a horse farm, riding, and understanding horse breeds
-True crime roundtable and discussions
-CSI kits, evidence logs, and hands-on training provided

What to Bring:
- We recommend you wear pants with low heeled shoes
- Sunblock, sunglasses, hat, etc. whatever you need to be comfortable outdoors
- Your lunch and drinks or your can order a lunch with your ticket from our vendor that they will deliver to you at noon.
*Weather permitting. We will not have camp in extreme weather. Campers will receive email notification of scheduling changes.
***CR Equine & Kennel does not sell or provide food or drinks for guests. Guests have the choice of bringing their food and refreshments or purchasing an individually packaged lunch from Fox’s Pizza Waxhaw through CREK’s website as an add-on to your ticket. The price of each meal includes meal, tax, tip, and delivery to the farm paid in totality to Fox’s Pizza Waxhaw.
