Topic & Speaker: Parenting children who have experienced trauma—especially through foster care or adoption—can feel overwhelming, confusing, and at times, discouraging. This workshop invites you to step into your child’s world and discover the healing power of play. Rooted in the principles of Child-Centered Play Therapy, we’ll explore how play offers a window into your child’s inner world, builds safety and connection, and supports emotional growth. You’ll learn practical, play-based strategies to strengthen your relationship, respond to challenging behaviors with empathy, and parent from a place of presence rather than performance. Whether you’re brand new to the idea of play therapy or looking to deepen your connection with your child, this workshop will leave you feeling encouraged, empowered, and equipped to see your child—and yourself—through new eyes. Our speaker Katie Deans is a licensed professional counselor, a TBRI Practitioner, and an adoptive mom.
Dinner: Dinner will be provided for all registered adults and children.
Childcare: Childcare will be provided by Lighthouse World Outreach Center.
