Understanding Poverty from the Inside Out:

This workshop offers a powerful introduction to how economic class shapes daily life, decision- making, and relationships. It goes beyond surface-level assumptions to explore the lived experience of poverty—how limited resources, constant crisis management, and the “tyranny of the moment” influence choices and long-term planning. Participants will learn key Bridges concepts, including the difference between generational and situational poverty, the hidden rules of class, and the 11 essential resources—like relationships,
language, and mental models—that are critical for stability.

Whether you interact regularly with individuals experiencing low resources or are seeking a deeper understanding, this workshop fosters empathy, practical insight, and tools to build meaningful connections across economic class. This workshop is the foundation for building better relationships, organizations, and communities.
