At the end of the presentation, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify methods of gaining rapport with a survivor to elicit more truthful and accurate information. 2. Articulate connections between child abuse or neglect and domestic violence. 3. Describe the importance of looking at a case wholistically, including previous interactions within and outside a given agency. 4. Identify the importance of extreme and unusual punishments as well as the presence of lethality indicators. 5. Describe how adverse childhood experiences and/or a child being in care can impact adulthood. 6. Explain why the process of disclosure and healing can be delayed and lengthy. 7. Articulate survivor characteristics that can be harnessed for success in adulthood. 8. Identify potential struggles for a juvenile emancipated from care and methods to mitigate
