Join us on Saturday, October 25 at 6pm for an evening with the Ancestors! At this time we find ourselves entering the season of Samhain, a Celtic fire festival which marks the last of the harvest and the beginning of a new year. A time of both death and rebirth marking the end of a bountiful harvest season and the beginning of winter, the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. It is also a time for connecting with, remembering, and honoring our dear departed friends and relations. In this week leading up to October 31, the veil begins to thin, making this connection with our Ancestors more accessable.
As many of us have been working tirelessly this past year to heal Ancestral wounds, we will make one last "harvest" of the season and retrieve our Ancestral gifts. Gregory Greer will begin our time together by gently guiding the Group through selected Sociometric warmup exercises. These are intended to kickstart the evenings work by fostering a sense of interrelation between group members. Once a space of comfort and safety has been established, he will utilize a SoulDrama role-chair exercise to invite participants to "connect" with a family member (Ancestor) in order to receive what they need to hear from that person at this time.
Next in the evening, Lori Vellutini will guide the group through a meditation to "retrieve" an Ancestral gift(s). Following the meditation, we will utilize blessed candles to perform a Fire Ceremony to burn away the old and make space for new intentions. The candles will also be infused with your retrieved Ancestral gifts and is yours to bring home. Every time you light it after this evening, your newly claimed gifts will be further anchored into your being.
To end the evening, for those who feel guided, bring a picture of a deceased loved one and share a story of them with the group and we will honor them together. 🙏
Be prepared to arrive no later than 15min before the start time and wear comfortable clothing as you will be gently active during the first half of the Circle and seated during the second half. Also be sure to bring a pen and a journal/paper with you to record your experience and a picture of a deceased loved one as you feel guided. We look forward to sharing space with you!
