New year reset and refresh
Join Alison and Chris for a day of reset and rejuvenation and finding our way into the New Year @ Yoga@Studio9.



Alison and Chris will guide you through a day with several practices to reset thew body and mind, starting the morning with a Hatha Yoga session led by Chris, designed to work on improving your heart rate variability, by combining both lifting and lowering practices, the a short break and before we stop for lunch Chris will lead us through a breathwork cass, specifically looking at calming and relaxing breath practices, that you can use anytime through life, to help manage stress, anxiety or quieting the mind and body to promote better wellbeing and overall health.



Chris will also give an overview of the respiratory system and the importance of the breath to overall health and wellbeing.



Lunch is provided with a delicious bowl of homemade soup and fresh bread, and some homemade treats by way of Alison, with a choice of herbal teas.



Alison takes over in the afternoon, with a Qigong practice, helping us balance the body and the mind and bring the nervous system into balance, then we finish the afternoon with a Yoga Nidra(sleep) session led by Alison to leave us all fully relaxed and refreshed, ready to meet 2026.





Qigong for an Energised Body & a Quiet Mind



Qigong (Chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese moving meditation you can practice to boost energy, relieve stress, and balance your emotions.



Qi means energy. Think of it as an electrical system. Every system in your body needs energy. Your heart, for example, is an electrical pump. Your nervous system and spine conduct a tremendous amount of energy communicating mind to body and body to mind. If the wires in your house get frayed, the appliances don't work. When the Qi in your body is blocked, the systems don't run smoothly.



Gong means skill or cultivation.



So, Qigong is "the skill of cultivating your energy."



This practice will help to insure that all parts of your body have a fresh supply of energy.





Alison will guide you through an Eight Extraordinary Meridians Qigong routine that opens your energy pathways and restores inner balance. You will feel your body soften, your mind quiet, and your energy come alive.

You will learn how to release tension and negative emotions and build a protective energy around you.



Yoga Nidra (Yoga Sleep)

Alison will lead you through a guided meditation technique that leads you into a state of deep relaxation between waking and sleeping while maintaining consciousness awareness. It combines physical relaxation with techniques like breath awareness, body rotation and guided mental imagery to manage stress and allow deep healing to take place.
