The DuPage Organic Garden Club is excited to announce a special guided tour of Possibility Place Native Plant Nursery in Monee, IL, led by Kelsay Shaw, nursery expert and our speaker for the club’s upcoming November program on Native Hedgerows and Shrub Borders at the Carol Stream Library.
Join us as we explore the nursery’s beautiful demonstration hedgerows, shrub borders, and a wide variety of native plants! This is an opportunity to see how native plants can be used in functional, ecological designs—and to learn directly from one of the region’s leading native plant specialists.
Founded in 1983, Possibility Place is environmentally focused and ecologically minded, with a mission to help individuals and communities increase biodiversity and improve the ecological function of natural spaces—from large wild areas to small backyards. Their work and vision are rooted in supporting local ecosystems with truly native species.
Late summer is an excellent time to purchase and plant native species, giving them time to establish before winter. You’ll have access to a wide selection of plants grown on-site with sustainable practices.
Possibility Place is located in Monee, IL, about an hour’s drive from the Carol Stream Library. When you arrive, follow the signs for retail parking. After parking, check in with the Retail Manager, Nicole, who will be at the retail register under the red tent. She’ll direct you to where our group is gathered. You’re also welcome to browse the retail store before or after the tour!
