By the End of This Workshop, You Will Be Able To:
- Design your own games and animations using Scratch, applying loops, conditions, and sequences.
- Use Micro:bit to interact with hardware by flashing LEDs and creating simple physical computing programs.
- Understand how loops and conditions help control the flow of a program using block-based tools.
- Create a basic web page using HTML and CSS with colors, headings, and images.
- Read and build simple data visualizations using bar and pie charts to understand how data tells a story.
What to Expect:
This hands-on, engaging workshop includes rotating sessions designed to develop coding, design, and logic skills:
- Session 1: Introduction to Scratch Coding
Build fun games and animations while learning programming structures like loops and conditions.
- Session 2: Coding with Micro:bit
Write simple programs to light up LEDs, display text, and explore real-world hardware coding.
- Session 3: Loops and Conditions with Blockly/Scratch
Practice applying logic through visual code blocks to make decisions and repeat actions.
- Session 4: Simple Web Design with HTML/CSS
Build your first web page by writing and styling code to structure content and add design.
- Session 5: Exploring Data with Charts
Work with numbers and shapes to build bar and pie charts for simple data storytelling.
Activities will be guided by instructors with support for all learners, regardless of experience level.
Who Should Attend:
- Students in Grades 3–5 interested in technology, design, or storytelling through coding.
No prior coding or robotics experience is required!
What’s Included:
- Participation in five engaging sessions.
- Access to laptops, Micro:bit kits, and learning materials.
- Take-home project files, web design samples, and data worksheets.
