Join us in celebrating the centennial of Oscar Peterson, one of the greatest jazz pianists in history and a true Canadian national treasure! Winner of eight Grammy Awards and recipient of the Order of Canada for his contributions to jazz music and for his representation of Canada on a global scale.
In honour of this momentous occasion, the Oscar Peterson Centennial Quartet, made up of talented pianist Robi Botos, double bassist Mike Downes, drummer Jim Doxas and trumpeter Lex French, all Juno Award winners, will join forces for a unique concert.
In addition to great jazz standards, the program includes Peterson's most famous works, such as Place St-Henri, Hymn to Freedom and Cakewalk. As a prelude to the concert, a multimedia presentation will immerse the audience in the world of the jazz master. In addition, Oscar Peterson's youngest daughter, Céline Peterson, will offer an intimate look at her father's life through touching personal anecdotes.
