Have you ever fancied trying your hand at crochet?
Maybe there is something you have been itching to make but are unsure where to start.
There is no time like right now to start and under the guidance of experienced crochet artist Alison Thompson.
This is a technique based workshop, teaching you some basic stitches that once mastered, will give you the skills to make almost anything you put your hook to (with a bit of practice of course!).
In this workshop you will learn:
Stitches
Basic Chain
Single crochet
Double crochet
Half double crochet
Treble crochet
Slip stitch
Techniques
How to start a project and how to finish off, in rows and rounds
How to join a new colour
How to read a crochet pattern
These simple techniques will start you on the journey of crochet creativity….. with endless exciting opportunities.
All tools will be provided for this course, including your own hook and a selection of some different fibre choices (acrylic, wool, cotton). You will also receive a simple pattern to try at home using your new skills and a guide that explains all the terminology you will need to read patterns and start creating and drawings to help jog your memory after the class.
No previous experience is necessary.
Suitable for age 12 and up.
All materials are provided including nibbles & refreshments.
