October is Blind Awareness Month, and we're dedicating our LoDa ArtWalk festivities to blind awareness — encouraging people to experience the world from a new perspective.
We're shutting down the street and will have:
🍴 Braille menus and live demos of a braille writer
🎯 Games simulating the effects of vision and hearing impairments
🎨 Deaf and blind artists
🎸 Live music from Phil & Foster
🍔 Food trucks, including Boogie Chicks
🍪 Sweet treats from Bread by Beck
🍺 Ice-cold craft beer

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is the world’s most comprehensive education, rehabilitation and service program serving individuals of all ages who are deaf, blind, deafblind and multidisabled and their families.
