Learn to let out your hard and hurt feelings in a constructive way through rage on the page. There’s nothing wrong with anger, but it can be hurtful to hold it in. Writing out your feelings and frustration in a burner journal helps you organize your thoughts and emotions, express yourself, and say what you’d never want to say out loud. Some of the proven benefits of this practice are increased perspective around a difficult situation or hard feelings, release of said feelings, understanding and acceptance, and self-compassion. Many times, this practice allows the writer to see their circumstances with greater clarity. Afterward, do what you want with your writing it. Shred it. Eat it. Take it home and burn it. It doesn’t matter. This isn’t writing to be seen. It’s writing to help you release yourself from fire and fury’s stranglehold, so you can create space for healing. Learn how to rage on the page and to accept yourself with greater warmth and compassion. It’s okay to be angry, and it’s okay to let it go.
