Join us for a free participatory celebration of two local projects in conversation with the Willow River: Churning currents, lapping futures at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery and Ribbon Zine by Ellie Anglin.
This community event will centre exploration and appreciation of the Willow River (colonially known as the Grand River) through a tour of Churning currents, lapping futures by KWAG programming staff, readings by contributors to Ribbon Zine, and a collaborative creative writing workshop and discussion circle as we collectively reflect on our relationship to local watersheds and our more-than-human neighbours.
About the artist:
Ellie Anglin was selected as the City of Kitchener Artist in Residence for 2024. They are a multimedia artist working in collage, illustration, animation, and graphic design, as well as a writer of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Her graphic memoir Reproduction: Death, Birth & The Turkey Baster Method will be published by PS Guelph in Fall 2025.
