THIS IS NOT THAT Open Studios Street Party
---------------------------------------------
Thursday, July 24, 2025
Open Studios @ 19:00
Street Party organized and powered by
The Old Powerhouse @ 19:00 – 00:00
with DJ set, food, drinks and a lively atmosphere!
19, Palias Ilektrikis Street, 1016 Nicosia
Join us on Thursday, July 24th at NiMAC for the culmination of the Summer Residency Program:
THIS IS NOT THAT — a six-week intensive period during which four artists, Miriam Gatt, Natalie Kynigopoulou, Bella Riza and Alexandros Xenophontos, explored themes of personal and collective memory, local histories, identity, and politics.
During the residency, the artists had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the public and received generous feedback from four established theorists, curators, and art historians; @Esra Plumer, @Marina Christodoulidou, @Yiannis Toumazis and @Nikos Akritidis offered valuable insights throughout the creative process.
On this final evening, the resident artists will present their work to the public in an exhibition taking the form of open studios at NiMAC, showcasing diverse voices and practices.
To further celebrate the end of the residency program — and a year filled with art, dialogic exchanges, reflection and learning, as well as community engagement — we’re hosting a Street Party on Palias Ilektrikis Street, right outside NiMAC.
This celebration is our way of connecting with and honoring the communities that support and inspire us to continue imagining. Let’s gather, celebrate, and share before we take a short summer break and return this fall with a full new program!
