Step back in time and explore the healing traditions of the 18th century on the historic homesite!
This workshop will introduce visitors to the practice of herbalism in colonial America. Learn how early settlers and healers used plants and natural remedies to treat common ailments, and discover which herbs were grown and foraged right here in the Carolina backcountry. This program offers an introductory look at the vital role of herbal medicine in daily life during the 18th century.
There is a $5 suggested donation to support the Charlotte Museum of History and help us continue to offer programs like this one.
Please RSVP by July 12 so we can prepare materials. If you’d like to visit the museum before the program, please arrive by 4 PM to allow enough time for your visit.
