Ripa na Tulipa is a Samba group formed in 2020, based in Rotterdam, where the group members met in the music conservatory.
Dedicated to organizing and performing the famous Brazilian traditional party "Roda de Samba", which consist of musicians around a table playing an eclectic and energetic repertoire, Brazilian barbecue and a lot of dancing, with songs that evoke the daily life of Brazilian culture. The repertoire consists of classic songs from important Samba groups such as Fundo de Quintal, Revelação and Dona Lara, as well as original tunes written by the members about living as expats in the Netherlands.
Ripa na Tulipa has a virtuosity in musical arrangements, exploring a large variety of typical Brazilian percussions as well as a very specific language of latin strings and woodwinds. The band is also known in Rotterdam for reuniting different communities of people for an interactive music concert that invites hospitality and has no boundaries of nationality🎵.
