📚 Book Presentation: Dialogues for Degrowth - Transdisciplinary Perspectives for Sustainable and Inclusive Futures
🗓 7 July 2025
🕗 8:00 PM
📍 TRISE – Transnational Institute of Social Ecology (Kolokotroni 31, Athens, 105 62)
We are excited to invite you to the presentation of the newly edited volume Dialogues for Degrowth: Transdisciplinary Perspectives for Sustainable and Inclusive Futures, with the participation of two of its editors, Marula Tsagkari and Brototi Roy, both postdoctoral researchers at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The book provides a sincere analysis of how colonial-capitalist-patriarchal relations affect each and every aspect of our lives, from shaping intimate relations to global migration, and how we can build sustainable and inclusive futures together.
A central aim of the book is to challenge the dominant Eurocentric, academic framing of degrowth by amplifying voices often excluded from the conversation, including women, early-career researchers, people of color, activists, and practitioners.
It uses a fluid collaborative and inclusive approach to explore degrowth through multiple lenses, from art, architecture, literature and post-development, to queer theory and everyday practices, setting an agenda for future research and activism.
We invite activists, scholars, students and curious minds to join us in this conversation and imagine together a future beyond growth!
