About Cliff Hillis & Dennis Schocket
Dennis Schocket and Cliff Hillis have been writing songs and singing harmonies together for over twenty years, most notably in the Baltimore band Starbelly which has received great accolades over the years from the music community at large.

About Bret Tobias & Krista Umile
Bret Tobias is a Philadelphia-based singer, songwriter, and founding member of The Bigger Lovers, the cult-favorite indie rock band celebrated for its melodic sensibility, warm harmonies, and smart, heartfelt songwriting. In 2023, The Bret Tobias Set emerged. Magnet describes The Bret Tobias Set's first EP, Pleaser Vol. 1, as "business as usual for Tobias, whose power-pop template has only grown more nuanced and patinaed since the dissolution of [The Bigger Lovers]." Just released last year in late November, The Philly Inquirer calls their second EP, Butter Valley Malcontent, “stellar.”
Krista Umile joined The Bret Tobias Set after the release of their first EP in 2023 and started working closely with Bret in arranging and recording Butter Valley Malcontent. Krista has been a member of Hoots and Hellmouth, Missing Palmer West, Andrew Lipke and the Prospects, and was also the cellist in The Azrael String Quartet (who performed regularly with Andrew Lipke). In addition to playing with The Bret Tobias Set, Krista plays with All the Living and the Dead, another Philly-based pop-rock group.
Bret and Krista take their nuanced collective styles and create a baroque-pop duo approach to their original tunes layered with vocal harmonies and thoughtful arrangements.
