What to Expect

The session begins promptly at 6pm. Attendees will have a brief opportunity to connect with other creatives in the sector before diving into a facilitated conversation focusing on Professional Development. The discussion will explore the ways Memphis creatives navigate existing skill-building opportunities, strengthen artistic and administrative practices, and advance their careers. We'll talk about what is and dream of what can be with the aim of building this within our ecosystem.

About the Artist Listening Session Series

This series is an opportunity for the newly formed City of Memphis Office of Creative & Cultural Economy to learn directly from the sector as we develop our policies, programs, and infrastructure. Artists, cultural administrators, and creative entrepreneurs are invited to discuss the six dimensions that impact a city hospitable for a thriving arts career: Validation, Markets/Demand, Material Supports, Training & Professional Development, Networks, and Information Accessibility. The July 28 conversation will cover Professional Development.
