As we move toward the final phase of construction, Do Greater Charlottte celebrates "A Century of Movement: Past to Power" - an immersive experience that draws a throughline from the early 20th-century Great Migration to the future of Charlotte’s creative and entrepreneurial landscape. Just as Black communities once transformed cities like Harlem, Tulsa, and Charlotte’s “Brooklyn” neighborhood into hubs of excellence, we continue that legacy in a building constructed in 1921 at a time when possibility and resistance were rising side by side. Now the future home to the Creative Lab Uptown, this historic space is being reimagined by Do Greater as a launchpad for today’s underestimated youth and entrepreneurs to rise.
