Join us on August 6 for an inspiring round-table conversation exploring community-driven philanthropy in Black and Brown communities.

About this Event

Join us on August 6, during Black Philanthropy Month, for an inspiring round-table discussion exploring how communities of color, particularly Black and Brown communities, have practiced philanthropy through mutual aid, kinship networks, church tithing, and cooperative economics.

Charles Thomas, program director at the Knight Foundation, will lead this conversation, focusing on challenging narrow definitions of philanthropy, how storytelling and visual art can reclaim narratives and uplift the legacy of African American philanthropists, the importance of philanthropic institutions recognizing and resourcing grassroots models of giving, and more!

Reserve a seat for this transformative conversation as we ponder what it looks like to reclaim philanthropy, spark momentum for collective giving, and leave inspired to see yourselves as philanthropists, regardless of income.

Admission is free; registration is encouraged.
