Cyanotype 101: Sunlight & Silhouettes
About this Event
Discover the magic of sunlight, water, and plants in this beginner-friendly Cyanotype 101 class! You’ll learn how to create beautiful blue-and-white botanical prints using pre-treated cyanotype material and pressed flowers or objects of your choice. We’ll guide you through the full process— revealing your finished cyanotype print. No prior art or photography experience is required—just curiosity and a love for creativity.
You’ll leave the class with 2 unique cyanotype prints and the confidence to continue printing at home or at MakerSpace Charlotte. All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own pressed flowers, leaves, or objcts if you’d like to personalize your work. Class appropriate for ages 16+.
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet or stained, as we’ll be working with water and light-sensitive materials.
Whether you're an artist, nature lover, or complete beginner, this class offers a fun and relaxed way to explore one of the oldest photographic techniques. Come ready to experiment, play, and be inspired!
