Scott Doniger will speak about and sign his new book, Hijacked: Getting to Know Our Parts and Why They Take Us Over, on Thursday, August 28th at 6:30pm, at Boulder Bookstore.

About the Book:

Losing your temper and arguing over politics. Isolating yourself from others after getting fired. Feeling lonely and obsessively eating. These and many other unhelpful behaviors are examples of when Parts of our personalities – the People-Pleaser, Distractor, Competitor, or Rager – literally take us over, run our lives, and deplete our bodies.

Through dozens of real-life anecdotes, Hijacked reveals what Parts are and why they hijack us. Readers are also introduced to the basic principles of Parts Work, born from Dr. Richard C. Schwartz’s innovative Internal Family Systems therapeutic model. Hijacked offers readers the basics of how Parts Work helps us access the energy of Self – our innate source of wisdom – which makes it possible to heal our most wounded Parts and live with greater inner peace and external calm.
