Christmas Party and Lighting up the Farmhouse!
This festive season the Welcome Glen Farmhouse is hosting its first ever community Christmas party and switching on of the lights. Built in the 1810s, the Farmhouse was recently renovated and has opened as a community centre.
The celebrations kick off at 5pm on 13 December with the switching on of the lights ceremony happening at 8.30pm. There will be live music by the multi-talented musician and singer/songwriter Amy Tjasink - a finalist on The Voice South Africa whose multitude of hit singles that can be heard across radio stations nation-wide.
Activities at the Christmas party include great food, face painting, jumping castle, kiddies activities and 20+ local traders selling Christmas gifts. Workshops include gingerbread man decorating and Christmas ornament making by eXp Realty. There will also be an appearance by Father Christmas and a loaded Christmas raffle.
Food options include beef and veggie burgers, boerewors rolls, build your own pitas with chicken, lamb and falafel option as well as a wide range of hot and cold drinks, fresh juices, milkshakes and more. Sweet treats and light snacks will also be available.
The Welcome Glen Farmhouse is operated by the Welcome Glen Community Voluntary Association and is a driver of community unity and local economic development. The Farmhouse is home to community owned and operated store Welcome Trading, a fabulous plant nursery, the Farmhouse Cafe and includes meeting rooms and event space.
