For the October 16th Muskies Canada Mississauga chapter meeting at the Franklin House in Streetsville we will be hosting Matt Martin! We are really looking forward to hearing about Muskies from Georgian Bay, Lake of the Woods, Kawarthas, and parts unknown!
Matt Martin is the owner and operator of Smooth River Guiding, a professional guiding service dedicated to fly fishing and predator species in particular. Based in Midland Ontario, Matt has built a reputation for helping clients connect with some of the most elusive and exciting fish in freshwater — especially muskies on the fly.
With a deep respect for the water and a focus on conservation-minded angling, Matt combines technical expertise with a relaxed, client-first approach. His passion lies in the pursuit of big predators — muskies, pike, and bass — using fly tackle in challenging conditions and wild places.
At this month’s meeting, Matt will be sharing his experiences and techniques around targeting muskies on the fly, as well as broader strategies for predator fishing. Whether you're a seasoned fly angler or just getting curious about catching toothy fish this way, this will be a great chance to learn from someone who lives it every day.
