Beginning birders are encouraged to join expert birdwatchers during this fun Citizen Science event! Multiple bird count stations with staff & volunteers available to guide and ID. Count begins Friday and Saturday from 8am and concludes at 12pm. Guests are welcome to join any time in between or stay the entirety of the count. Easy walking distances of up to 2 miles on flat terrain. A shuttle will be available to transport participants as needed. A limited amount of loaner binoculars will be available as well as binocular rentals at the park store. Special topic presentation on Sunday at 2pm by Park Superintendent, Tom Forwood, Winter Wings Head North, learn where our migrating birds go after winter. Programs free with park entry.
