The Keep

On the eve of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, an undisciplined, brutal, and rapacious unit is sent to capture a mysterious church fortress in a Romanian pass. A few of the soldiers attempt to loot the church, resulting in the release of a malevolent force they cannot contain. Mann’s flawed, polarizing, and contentiously released film is gloriously photographed and has a fantastic score by Tangerine Dream. New Restoration!
