Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation
This Jubilee year, Catholic communities across the United States are planning to embark on a series of pilgrimages throughout the country as a call to cultivate a renewed commitment to caring for creation.
Our Laudato Si Care for Creation Group and the group at St. Frances Cabrini are jointly planning an event which will begin and end at St. Frances Cabrini, 1500 E. Franklin Ave. on Saturday, September 13, running from 10:00 am to noon. After an opening prayer, the group will walk a mile across the Franklin Bridge to the Annie Young Meadow along the River Road, where there will be a service of music and prayer. After the service, the group will walk back to Cabrini, and wrap up around noon.
The pilgrimage is open to parishioners of all ages and abilities. If a two mile walk would be a challenge, individuals can drive from Cabrini to the gathering spot on the River Road.
We invite musicians - both singers and instrumentalists of all types - to help create music during the pilgrimage. Please contact
