Musical Migration – Laura Loge, Soprano, Steven Luksan, Piano

Musical Migration is an exploration of music composed by Norwegians who immigrated to the United States over the last two centuries. This nearly-forgotten repertoire will be heard again –from nostalgic folk songs to classical art songs, and popular tunes to solo piano repertoire – performed and guided by soprano Laura Loge and pianist Steven Luksan. This music is a reflection of the composers who left everything behind for an opportunity in a new land, and who brought their music with them, shaped by their struggles, new adventures, and longing for their homeland and distant families.

General admission. There is no charge for the concert. Free-will offerings and donations to the Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota will be taken at the door.
