Mack Lecture: M. Gessen

National Book Award winner, best-selling author, and journalist M. Gessen comes to the Walker as part of the Mack Lecture Series.

An indispensable voice of and for this moment, Gessen has a sharp take on our current political climate, recognizing that politics affects every part of our lives—our health, our families, and our democracy. Gessen’s perspective on the history of and outcomes to the modern sociopolitical structures offers a sobering but sharp-witted analysis of what in US society has changed and what’s at stake. Addressing autocrats, gender, and politics, Gessen’s expansive publications underscore our common humanity and the danger of totalitarian regimes that respect no rule of law.

A short, moderated dialogue and Q&A follow the presentation. A pop-up bar will be open in the Main Lobby starting one hour before the lecture.

Mack Lectures provide a platform for changemakers at the forefront of their fields to share new ideas and alternative ways of working.
