Bring your family and join in the 16th annual celebration of arts and nature at Silverwood’s FIELD TRIP event taking place Saturday, September 13th from 12 to 4PM. This outdoor event is free, for all ages, and you may drop-in anytime.
AROUND THE VISITOR CENTER AND PATIO:
- Shop artwork from local makers with Minneapolis Craft Market.
- Watercolor your own botanical bookmark inspired by the work of gallery artist, Kristen Majia Peterson!
- Investigate prairie grasses and flowers up close with a Silverwood Naturalist!
- Meet artist Brighton McCormick and take part in hot and cold press metal branding activities!
AT THE AMPHITHEATER AND GREAT LAWN:
- Enjoy live music performances by local artists Paper Chain (12PM) and *splash!* (2:30PM) in the outdoor amphitheater.
- Play on the Great Lawn! Spin some big hula hoops, play with the rainbow parachute, or challenge a friend to a game of giant Jenga, jumbo Scrabble, or bean bag toss.
- Food available for purchase from local food trucks!
- Beer, wine, and soda options available for purchase from Complete Beverage.
NEAR THE WHITE OAK CLASSROOM:
- Learn about Silverwood's clay programs, get your hands dirty with a clay play table, and meet our new 'Little Free Pottery Library'!
- Bring a piece of art to leave or take a piece of art home from the art swap!
ALONG THE TRAIL:
- Visit Silverwood's expanded Nature Play Area where you can build, explore, and join in a scavenger hunt for hidden images!
- Explore Silverwood's self-guided Art on Foot trail, including brand new sculpture and poetry stops!
