✨ Minds in Motion: Ohio 2025 ✨
Where Movement + Brain Science + Connection Come Together
We are thrilled to bring our Minds in Motion clinic to Ohio — a unique opportunity to ride, learn, and grow with a powerhouse team of educators:
🌟 JEC ARISTOTLE BALLOU — Author, clinician, and expert in equine fitness & performance
🌟 JENN CURRIE — Equine Educational Consultant and creator of Brain-Centered Horsemanship™
🌟 WENDY SHAFFER — Masterson Method® Certified Practitioner and body language specialist
This clinic blends the best elements of Minds in Motion with Jec’s Equine Fitness & Performance Clinic, giving riders a full weekend dedicated to improving movement, posture, trust, and communication.
What This Clinic Offers
🐎 In-Hand + Riding Sessions with Jec
The core of the weekend centers on Jec’s proven fitness and conditioning work.
You’ll focus on:
Posture and balance
Strength-building exercises
In-hand work for straightness and coordination
Ground poles and targeted patterns
Under-saddle application
Troubleshooting stiffness, heaviness, or crookedness
You’ll work in both semi-private and larger group sessions, receiving personalized strategies tailored to your horse.
🧠 Brain-Centered Horsemanship™ with Jenn Currie
Each morning begins with a short, engaging session on how the horse’s brain learns and processes movement.
Jenn will show you:
How to keep your horse out of survival mode
Why certain exercises feel easy (or hard) for the brain
How patterns, predictability, and feedback build confidence
How to support your horse mentally while learning new movement
This sets the tone for a calm, connected, and successful day of training.
💛 Equine Body Language + Bodywork with Wendy Shaffer
Wendy will offer a focused session on:
How horses communicate discomfort or uncertainty
Recognizing subtle signs in posture and expression
Understanding how tension shows up in movement
Simple techniques riders can use to support relaxation
Throughout the clinic, Wendy will be available to help riders interpret what their horses are showing and to support their comfort as they work.
Why Riders Love This Format
This clinic gives you the whole picture:
How the horse moves.
Why the horse moves that way.
What helps the horse move better — physically and mentally.
It’s a supportive, positive environment designed to help both horse and rider feel successful.
