The wait is almost over! The highly anticipated “Short Track Debut” is officially set for Saturday, October 11th at West Virginia Motor Speedway. WVMS will drop the first green flag of the ‘Action Era’ at the brand-new 3/8-mile short track with a massive night of racing, headlined by a crowd pleasing $5,000 to win Super Late Model special.
This historic debut event will bring some of the region’s finest dirt racers to West Virginia Motor Speedway for a memorable night of racing excitement. Alongside the Super Late Models, fans will be treated to a $1,200 to win UMP Modified showcase, $1,000 to win Pro Late Model battle, and a $700 to win Sport Mod showdown, guaranteeing non-stop action from start to finish.
“This is a milestone moment for West Virginia Motor Speedway,” said track owner Mike Hurley. “We’ve put countless hours and resources into building a new short track that will deliver close, competitive racing to keep the fans engaged in the action. October 11th will be the first chance for fans to experience the new track and we are looking forward to everyone’s support”.
The beautiful fall colors will paint a picturesque backdrop as guests arrive to the track conveniently located off I-77, Exit 170. Gates will swing open at 2pm with track activities getting underway at 5pm. General admission is priced at just $20 with Pit admission set at $40 dollars. Kids 10 and under FREE to G.A. Only. Tickets will only be available at the gate for the event, with advanced tickets for future events coming in 2026. Camping will be open to the public starting Wednesday October 8th for just $50 for the week or $25 a day. More details on class rules and event specifics is forthcoming.
