Porlock Vale Conversations and Connection Afternoon.
An afternoon to bring the whole community of Porlock Vale together has been arranged by Porlock Information Centre, run by Porlock Vale CIC. This will be an opportunity for all residents throughout Porlock Vale to come together at Porlock Village Hall. Porlock Vale is a rural community where there is a focus on ensuring that everyone is aware of support and help available, whatever their needs. As Porlock has the most aged population and falls in the top 20% of deprived areas in the UK, Porlock Information Centre seeks to gather community input to better target support and ensure residents have access to essential information and services for families and for older people to live well in their homes and communities for longer.
On Tuesday 30th September 2025 at 2.00 p.m. at Porlock Village Hall, there will be an afternoon of guest speakers and numerous community organisations who will be available for everyone to talk to on a one-to-one basis. Representatives from Somerset Council. Somerset Activity Sports Partnership, Spark Somerset, Wivey Cares, Home Start, St Dubricius First School, Minehead Dementia Group, Porlock Library, Impact CIC are just a few of the groups who will be there.
Porlock Information Centre will be giving an update on their Community Café project and launching a community questionnaire and the Good Neighbour Scheme. An afternoon in Porlock would not be complete without teas and cake provided by Porlock Ladies and The Porlock Vale Chef.
