New State Block Party

The New State Block Party has become a classic kickoff to Near West Side Week—a celebration of Milwaukee’s history and culture with a full week of activities highlighting everything our neighborhood has to offer.

Get into the groove with The New State Youth DJs—Milwaukee’s next generation of music makers—spinning live sets all afternoon. These young artists are part of a mentorship program that builds talent in DJing, production, and performance.

The day also features:
+ Spoken word by Kavon Cortez Jones;
+ First Stage Milwaukee’s Young Company & Goosebumps cast
+ Art showcase by Brad Bernard
+ Classic car show
+ Hands-on art project with Artists Working in Education

And of course, fuel up with delicious food from Daddy’s Soul Food & Grille and sweet treats from Pete’s Pops.
