Living in a Hotel with John McGivern: Eloise at the Plaza @ 10 am

Join Milwaukee actor/storyteller, John McGivern, on a tour through the historic Knickerbocker. The host of “John McGivern’s Main Streets” will give an inside look at three of the full-time residents’ condos/homes within, including his own!

John McGivern is best known for his six-time Emmy-award winning work on PBS. John spent nine seasons on PBS with his weekly series, AROUND THE CORNER with John McGivern. His new show, JOHN McGIVERN’S MAIN STREETS, can be found on PBS stations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, and Iowa.

Completed in 1929, the Knickerbocker hotel was constructed in the Neo-Classical Revival architectural style. The physical plan and layout of the building was not altered again until the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was during this time that the Knickerbocker underwent the transformations that recent guests will recognize. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Knickerbocker on the Lake remains one of the few historic buildings left from the early years of Milwaukee’s metropolitan development.

Ticket revenue supports Historic Milwaukee’s mission to education the public about Milwaukee’s history and architecture through programming like Doors Open Milwaukee. The event will not include food or beverage.
