Friday Night Freak Show - To Sir, with Love

Hey movie lovers — mark your calendars for Friday, September 26th! The Friday Night Freak Show is back at the Oriental Theatre, and this time it’s a Tom Crawford pick you won’t want to miss.

We’re showing the 1967 classic To Sir, with Love — a powerful British drama starring the one and only Sidney Poitier. Set in the East End of London, the film tackles tough social and racial issues in a struggling secondary school. It’s heartfelt, it’s inspiring — and it features a killer soundtrack.

You’ll recognize the title track, “To Sir with Love,” sung by Lulu — it topped the Billboard charts for five straight weeks back in ’67 and was the best-selling single in the U.S. that year.

The night kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with a live DJ set from Dave Cornils of One Man’s Trash on WMSE, and the film starts rolling at 7:30.
